How To Use It

Mexican Seasoning Salsa
1 (14.5 ounce) can Petite Diced Tomatoes
1-2 Teaspoons Mexican Seasoning

The recipe I am about to share with you creates about 2 cups of Mexican Seasoning. Just a couple tablespoons of this seasoning blend can add quite a kick to any Mexican recipe. My personal favorite way to use this seasoning is to take 1 (14.5 ounce) can of petite diced tomatoes and mix in 1-2 teaspoons of seasoning to create an instant salsa! Allow your salsa to sit for at least 10-15 minutes so the dried ingredients have time to hydrate in the tomato juices. MY FAMILY LOVES SALSA!! Of course you can jazz yours up a bit by adding fresh chopped onion & peppers.

Additionally, you can add this Mexican Seasoning blend to sour cream or plain yogurt to create other dips and/or dressings. Try using it to season shredded chicken for tacos. Add a Mexican twist on your normal chili recipe. Ideas are endless!

How To Make It

Use which ever brand seasoning you are comfortable with. I get my seasonings from a variety of stores like Sams Club, Aldi, and Dollar Tree often using generic brands.

Mix together 1/2 cup Dried Chopped Onion and 1/2 cup Chili Powder. Add 1/4 cup EACH of Garlic Powder, Dried Cilantro, & Dried Parsley. Continue with 4 teaspoons of Cayenne Pepper (if you want less heat substitute with Paprika). Mix in 4 teaspoons of Cumin and finish up by adding 2 teaspoons EACH of Salt & Pepper.

After combining all ingredients, store in a jar or ziplock bag until you are ready to use.
